Photographs of Sultan Ahmad Shah throughout his younger days were shown on a white screen.

The event ended with the students singing a birthday song.

Present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and state education director Abdul Aziz Abdul Latiff.

Earlier in his speech, Sultan Ahamad Shah urged teachers and parents to ensure that the younger generation did not lose their identity, especially in the fast-moving world of information and communications technology.

"The ICT world is moving ahead rapidly.

"Therefore, it is important that we make sure the younger generation does not easily get carried away as this could tarnish our culture."
